Safety first.
Did you know that…
300 people suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital every week? Bystander CPR doubles the chance of survival, especially when started quickly. In fact, 70% of resuscitations in the Netherlands take place at home!
CPR and AED course: what does it entail?
A CPR and AED course is specifically designed for anyone who wants to know how to save a life. During this course, you’ll learn to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator): a portable device that delivers an electric shock to the heart in the event of life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias.
What do we do?
We take this course every year with Team Nouwen. During this course, we receive a refresher on how to use an AED and perform CPR. We do this by practicing on a CPR manikin under the expert guidance of a certified instructor. In case of emergency, we also have a neighborhood AED installed on our building at Damplein. We hope we never have to use it, but if we do, we obviously need to know how to use it.
